Liberian comedian Mama Liberia, has released another lengthy statement as his ongoing public dispute with his estranged wife continues to dominate social media.

Responding to claims that he married his wife in hopes of relocating to the United States, Mama Liberia firmly denied the accusation, insisting that he was deceived into believing he was starting a family, not chasing an American visa.

According to the comedian, his wife told him she had been selected to travel to the United States through the Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery but claimed she could no longer continue with the process because she was pregnant with his child.

Mama Liberia alleged that during that period, he was communicating with people he believed were his wife’s relatives, including an “aunt” handling her travel process and a “father” living in America. He now claims those accounts were all secretly operated by his wife.

He said the individual posing as her father urged him to marry her quickly, telling him that the U.S. Embassy would soon call for her interview and promising to purchase flight tickets for the couple after the wedding.

Believing he was about to become a husband and father, Mama Liberia said he agreed to the marriage.

As a man who believed he was about to have a family, I didn’t want to lose my wife and child. That is why we got married so quickly,” he wrote.

The comedian further alleged that after their wedding, the account posing as her father suddenly stopped communicating, while the account pretending to be her aunt continued interacting with him. He claims he later discovered both accounts belonged to his wife.

Mama Liberia also alleged that after the DV process failed, another Facebook account contacted them claiming to represent the U.S. Embassy. According to him, the account repeatedly informed them that her visa appointment was approaching and instructed them to pay processing fees through GT Bank.

He claimed he gave his wife money on four different occasions for what he believed were embassy-related expenses, only to later discover that those messages had also come from her.

Adding another layer to his allegations, Mama Liberia said his wife often presented herself as a deeply religious woman, praying over their passports and taking them to various churches while assuring him that their travel plans were genuine.

The comedian maintained that he has evidence to support his claims and stressed that his latest statement was not intended to seek sympathy or attack his estranged wife.

Instead, he said he wanted to correct what he described as a false public narrative that he married solely because of an opportunity to move to America.

To support his claims, Mama Liberia shared screenshots of conversations he alleges show his wife pretending to be her aunt, whom he believed was handling her U.S. immigration process.

The allegations come just days after the comedian accused his estranged wife of selling his building materials, deceiving him throughout their marriage, lying about pregnancies, and hiding the existence of a child. Those claims, along with his latest allegations, have fueled intense public debate online.

As of now, the allegations made by Mama Liberia have not been independently verified, and his estranged wife has not publicly responded to these latest claims. The legal dispute between the two remains before the court.
