What started as a private marital dispute has now become one of the biggest talking points on Liberian social media after comedian Abass Conde, popularly known as Mama Liberia, and his estranged wife publicly accused each other of deception, betrayal, and financial wrongdoing.

The drama began after reports surfaced that Mama Liberia took his wife to the police, accusing her of selling his building materials without his permission. His wife admitted selling the cement but claimed she did so to pay rent after he allegedly moved out of their home and started living with another woman.

Mama Liberia strongly rejected that narrative. In a series of Facebook posts and shared WhatsApp screenshots, he insisted the issue was not about rent but about what he described as the unauthorized sale of 250 bags of cement, POP materials, steel rods, and other construction items. He said he reported the matter to the police and that it is now before the court.

The situation escalated further after Mama Liberia released more private messages and made additional allegations against his estranged wife. He claimed she duped him into marrying her, alleging that he was misled throughout the relationship.

He also accused her of lying about multiple pregnancies during their marriage and later discovering that she allegedly had a 14-year-old child she did not initially disclose. According to him, these revelations contributed to deep emotional and financial strain throughout their relationship.

In the WhatsApp exchanges shared publicly, his wife repeatedly apologized and asked for forgiveness, admitting she had made mistakes. She expressed regret over her actions and pleaded for reconciliation, while also disputing some of the claims made against her.

Mama Liberia, on the other hand, maintained that he has suffered both financially and emotionally, insisting that he was deceived and left to deal with significant losses, including his building materials. He also alleged long-standing dishonesty and manipulation during the marriage.

The ongoing dispute has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with users divided over the claims being made by both sides. While some sympathize with Mama Liberia’s allegations, others are calling for restraint and urging that the matter be settled in court rather than online.

At this stage, all accusations remain unproven allegations, and the case is expected to proceed through the legal system for proper determination.
