Veteran Liberian music star DenG has added another remarkable achievement to his name, this time not on the stage or in the recording studio, but in the classroom.
The celebrated artist has officially graduated from the Cuttington University School of Graduate and Professional Studies with a Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainable Development (Global Affairs and Policy), marking the successful completion of a challenging two-year academic journey.
Sharing the exciting news with fans, DenG reflected on the sacrifices that led to the milestone, writing, “It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.”
According to the award-winning musician, earning the degree demanded countless sleepless nights, moments of self-doubt, unwavering prayers, perseverance, and an unshakable commitment to achieving a dream that often seemed distant but never impossible.
DenG used the moment to challenge the long-held belief that musicians should only focus on entertainment, stressing that education deserves just as much attention as talent and fame.
“As a musician, education is not always part of the conversation, especially in our society,” he wrote. “Too often, talent, popularity, and public recognition overshadow academic pursuits. Yet, I have always believed that growth should never be confined to one path. Musicians are capable of chasing multiple dreams at the same time.”
The “They Want It” hitmaker also reflected on the realities many Liberians face in pursuing higher education, noting that success often depends not only on intelligence but also on endurance, sacrifice, and refusing to give up despite financial and personal hardships.
Giving glory to God, DenG said divine grace carried him through moments when the pressure became overwhelming, joking that the academic workload sometimes felt “heavier than New Kru Town sand bag.”
The veteran artist dedicated the achievement to his parents, Rev. Henry F.K. George and Mother Getrude C. George, thanking them for the sacrifices, prayers, and values that laid the foundation for his success.

He also acknowledged former President George Manneh Weah for providing him with an opportunity that enabled him to earn an income, save money, and finance his education. DenG further expressed appreciation to Senator Bill Twehway for what he described as fatherly support throughout his journey.
The singer extended heartfelt gratitude to his thesis supervisor, Dr. J. Teakon Williams, professors Professor Kau Belleh and Ambassador Elias B. Shoniyin, as well as his lecturers and classmates, crediting them for shaping him academically and personally.
Perhaps the most inspiring part of DenG’s message was his encouragement to young Liberians.
He said his graduation proves that musicians can pursue academic excellence while maintaining successful careers in entertainment, urging young people never to abandon their dreams regardless of the obstacles before them.
The achievement has since been met with widespread congratulations from fans and fellow entertainers, many describing DenG’s accomplishment as an inspiring reminder that education and entertainment can successfully go hand in hand.
With a successful music career already behind him and now a master’s degree to his name, DenG has shown that the pursuit of knowledge is another stage where greatness can be achieved.
