Mattz Recordz has announced the termination of its professional affiliation with Liberian artist 10-30, effective August 18, 2026, citing a series of concerns surrounding the artist’s conduct and professional relationship with the label.
According to a termination letter signed by Mattias Sirleaf, CEO of Mattz Recordz, the label said the decision followed what it described as repeated concerns over 10-30’s continued use of narcotics and excessive alcohol, despite alleged advice, counseling and treatment recommendations from health practitioners, as well as concerns raised by family members, fans and well-wishers.
The label said it had repeatedly encouraged the artist to adopt a healthier lifestyle and maintain professional conduct but claimed its efforts had not resulted in meaningful change.
Mattz Recordz also listed several professional issues it says contributed to the decision.
The label accused 10-30 of repeatedly ignoring management’s advice and correction, attending events without management’s knowledge or approval, and accepting performance bookings and other engagements without informing the label.
According to the statement, 10-30 also allegedly failed to appear at confirmed performances on multiple occasions, forcing the label to refund advance payments and resulting in financial losses and reputational damage.
Mattz Recordz further claimed that the artist had continued participating in activities and behaviors that management believes are negatively affecting his image and music career, despite repeated advice from management, health professionals, family members and supporters.
The label stressed that the move is not a termination of a recording contract, explaining that there is no legally binding recording agreement between Mattz Recordz and 10-30. Instead, the company described the decision as the end of its professional affiliation with the artist.
“Mattz Recordz wishes the artist well,” the statement said, adding that the label hopes 10-30 chooses a path that prioritizes his health, personal well-being and future success.
The termination takes effect August 18, 2026.
Mattz Recordz said it will now focus on protecting the reputation and integrity of the label while maintaining the professional standards it expects from its affiliated artists.
