BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa County – Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah has, on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, officially dedicated a newly constructed public school in Buchanan, marking another step in the government’s efforts to improve access to quality education across Liberia.
The new school was built to ease overcrowding at Bassa High School while creating additional learning space for students in Grand Bassa County.
Speaking during the dedication ceremony, Dr. Jallah said the Boakai administration remains committed to strengthening public education through continued investment in school infrastructure. She stressed that improving education requires more than constructing classrooms, noting that qualified teachers, adequate learning materials, and safe learning environments are all essential to helping students succeed.
The Education Minister praised the Grand Bassa County Legislative Caucus and the County Council for funding the project and commended the World Basic Group of Companies for completing the facility ahead of schedule.
Accepting the keys to the school on behalf of President Boakai and the Government of Liberia, Dr. Jallah pledged that the Ministry of Education would continue working with county authorities and development partners to improve the campus and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
The dedication ceremony was attended by government officials, lawmakers, education stakeholders, traditional leaders, students, and residents, who gathered to celebrate the opening of the new school and its expected impact on education in Grand Bassa County.
