Liberian R&B/Afrobeat singer STUNN has stirred discussion online after sharing his thoughts on what it truly takes for artists to succeed in the entertainment industry.

In a recent Facebook post, the singer suggested that musicians are often faced with two paths: chasing popularity or building a solid foundation behind the scenes. According to him, while popularity may bring quick attention, long-term success is better achieved through structure, patience, and consistency.

“After the realization that Liberia’s entertainment industry isn’t built on a solid structure, you have two choices: Chase popularity. Build structure in silence,” STUNN wrote.

He went on to note that the second option is often less understood and more difficult to pursue, but emphasized that it is key to sustainable growth in the industry.

The post quickly gained traction and later drew attention from award-winning artist CIC, who publicly backed his viewpoint in the comments section.

“They hate it when you opt not to be average! They tag you self-centered, jealous, envious, etc. To be different, you gotta act and move different. Social media ain’t real life,” CIC responded.

His reaction added more weight to the ongoing discussion, with fans and industry observers now debating the balance between instant popularity and long-term career structure within Liberia’s entertainment space.

Some supporters agree with the artists, arguing that consistency and strategy are often overlooked in favor of viral moments, while others believe visibility and popularity remain key drivers of success in today’s music industry.

The exchange between STUNN and CIC has since continued to generate conversation online, highlighting a growing debate about sustainability, perception, and professionalism in Liberia’s evolving entertainment scene.
