Liberian music sensation JZyNo is signaling a return to local collaborations after spending much of the year working with artists from outside Liberia.
The singer, who has built a reputation as one of Liberia’s most successful international music exports, recently announced plans to give a feature verse to one Liberia-based artist before the end of the month. Rather than making the selection on his own, JZyNo is turning to fans for help.
In a post shared on social media, the artist invited supporters to nominate their favorite local acts for consideration.
“I’ve given verses to some cool artistes outside Liberia this year. Let me give one fire verse to a dope artiste based in Liberia before this month ends. Tag your favorite, imma look them up and clock it. Picking just one artiste for this month,” JZyNo wrote.
The announcement quickly generated excitement among music fans, with hundreds of supporters flooding the comment section with recommendations. Artists from different genres and backgrounds were mentioned as fans campaigned for their favorites to land what many are calling one of the most valuable collaborations currently available in Liberia’s music industry.
For many emerging artists, a feature from JZyNo could provide significant exposure and open doors to new audiences both within Liberia and beyond.
The move is particularly notable because it comes after a period in which the self-proclaimed “Global Boy” has focused heavily on expanding his international footprint.
