Monrovia, Liberia – George Solo, former Chairman of Congress for Democratic Change, has passed away amid a health emergency in flight on Royal Air Maroc Flight AT200 from Casablanca to New York on April 24, 2026.

A deeply emotional eyewitness account shared by a close associate Samuel Dahn, popularly known online as “Don Sosa,” has surfaced, detailing the final hours of former Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Chairman George Solo, who reportedly died aboard Royal Air Maroc Flight AT200 from Casablanca to New York.

Dahn, who says he was seated directly behind Solo during the flight, described the incident in a lengthy personal narration that has since gone viral, emphasizing that his account is shared “in no way for media attention, but as a personal experience.”

According to his account, he first noticed Solo at the Casablanca airport during transit on April 24, 2026, observing that the Liberian political figure appeared visibly unwell, struggling to breathe, sweating heavily, and vomiting while seated in the airport lounge. Dahn said he was compelled to check on him after what he described as a strong internal prompting.

He stated that Solo initially insisted he was fine, despite his deteriorating condition, and was seen taking medication reportedly sourced from a clinic in Liberia before boarding the flight.

Dahn further recounted that during boarding, he insisted on ensuring Solo received assistance, eventually arranging for wheelchair support despite Solo’s repeated refusal of help. The two later boarded the same aircraft, seated in close proximity, Solo in seat 35A and Dahn directly behind him.

Mid-flight, the situation reportedly worsened. Dahn described Solo becoming increasingly restless, frequently moving to the restroom and requesting water, while showing signs of severe distress. According to him, flight attendants later called for medical assistance onboard after Solo’s condition escalated.

Two medical professionals on the flight reportedly responded and began emergency intervention after suspecting a severe diabetic complication. Blood sugar checks and emergency procedures, including CPR, were administered after Solo reportedly became unresponsive.

Despite nearly an hour of resuscitation efforts, Solo was pronounced dead onboard the aircraft, according to the account.

Dahn described the atmosphere on the flight as emotionally heavy, noting that passengers and crew were visibly shaken as medical personnel worked to save Solo’s life. He said the flight crew later moved the body to the rear section of the aircraft as the journey continued to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

In his emotional reflection, Dahn said Solo’s final words to him included that he was traveling to Minneapolis for medical treatment. He expressed grief over witnessing the final moments of someone he described as a fellow Liberian who was “trying to survive and seek help abroad.”

Authorities and official representatives from the CDC, the Solo family, and Royal Air Maroc have not yet issued formal confirmation or statements regarding the reported death as of press time.

The account has sparked widespread reactions online, with many expressing shock, sympathy, and concern, while others are calling for official clarification on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This remains a developing story.
