Liberian rapper Bucky Raw has opened up about his past arrest, alleging that he was unfairly treated by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) and targeted because of his status as a well-known public figure.
Speaking on a recent podcast, the artist shared his version of events surrounding the raid on his home and the subsequent arrest that made headlines at the time.
According to Bucky Raw, after he was taken to the LDEA station, officers allegedly attempted to force him to take photographs with drugs that he claims were not recovered from his residence.
The rapper also alleged that several personal belongings went missing during the raid, including cash, watches, and sunglasses.
In one of the podcast’s most striking moments, Bucky Raw claimed that an individual arrested alongside him admitted to authorities that the drugs belonged to him. Despite this, the rapper believes investigators continued to focus on him because of his celebrity status.
According to Bucky Raw, being a high-profile artist made him the main target of the case.
The revelations come as the rapper has increasingly spoken out about what he sees as inconsistencies in the way drug-related cases are handled in Liberia, particularly following recent national conversations surrounding major narcotics seizures.
His comments have since generated debate across social media, with supporters questioning the circumstances surrounding his arrest while others have called for caution, noting that the allegations represent the artist’s account of events.
The LDEA has not publicly responded to the claims made by Bucky Raw during the podcast.
As the interview continues to circulate online, it has reignited discussions about law enforcement practices, celebrity treatment, and accountability within Liberia’s justice system.
