Mustapha I. Raji has been re-elected unopposed as President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), securing a third four-year term during the association’s 30th Ordinary Congress held Friday, May 15, at the LFA Headquarters in Congo Town.
The latest mandate extends Raji’s leadership of Liberian football through 2030, further solidifying his influence over the country’s football development agenda.
Raji’s re-election comes following what many within the football community have described as a transformative second term, marked by a strong emphasis on infrastructure development, grassroots sustainability, and institutional reforms within the LFA.
Under his administration, the association has undertaken several initiatives aimed at improving football facilities across Liberia while also strengthening youth and women’s football programs. His tenure has additionally been noted for efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in the management of development funds provided by international football governing bodies FIFA and CAF.
The LFA leadership under Raji has also maintained closer working relations with both FIFA and CAF, a move supporters say has contributed to increased confidence in the governance and direction of Liberian football.
Stakeholders at the congress praised the unopposed re-election as a sign of confidence in Raji’s stewardship and vision for the game in Liberia.
With a fresh mandate now secured, attention is expected to shift toward the continuation of infrastructure projects, the expansion of grassroots football, and the overall growth of the sport nationwide.
Raji is expected to lead the Liberia Football Association through another critical period as the country continues efforts to strengthen its football structures and improve competitiveness on the continental stage.
