MONROVIA, Liberia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has forwarded a 30-year-old woman, Olyne T. Alade, to court to face prosecution for murder, aggravated assault, and criminal mischief in connection with a fatal motorbike accident.
According to the LNP Press and Public Affairs Division, the accident occurred on September 28, 2025, following an exchange of words between Alade and two occupants of a motorbike during a traffic-related dispute.
Police investigators allege that Alade pursued the motorbike and struck it from behind, causing both occupants to fall to the ground. One of the occupants died as a result of the accident, while the other sustained serious injuries, including fractured legs.
Following the accident, Alade allegedly fled the scene and later left Liberia for Ghana. Police said she was subsequently arrested in Monrovia on August 2, 2026.
Investigators also reported that Alade had previously been repatriated to Liberia from the United States, although police said she declined to disclose the reason for her repatriation during questioning.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the LNP formally charged Alade and forwarded her case to court for prosecution under the laws of the Republic of Liberia.
The charges are being pursued under Chapter 14, Sections 14.1(a) and 14.20(a), and Chapter 15, Section 15.3 of the Revised Penal Code of Liberia.
The case is now before the court, where Alade is entitled to due process and all other rights guaranteed under Liberian law.
The Liberia National Police said the case remains subject to judicial proceedings and that the allegations against the accused will be determined by the court.
