Popular American streamer IShowSpeed has launched a new charity initiative aimed at supporting grassroots football development across Africa, with Liberia among the beneficiary countries.
The project, named The Africa Fund, was created in partnership with the organization Common Goal, following Speed’s recent live-stream tour across Africa, which included a visit to Liberia on January 24.
According to details released about the initiative, the fund is designed to support local football organizations in 21 African countries, including Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Kenya. The goal is to improve access, facilities, and opportunities for young and aspiring footballers at the grassroots level.
As part of the launch, IShowSpeed has personally contributed $50,000 USD to kick-start the project, with additional funding expected through public donations and support from partners involved in the initiative.
The Africa Fund aims to use football as a development tool, helping young people across the continent build their talent, gain exposure, and access better pathways through the sport.
The announcement has already generated positive reactions online, particularly among football fans who see the initiative as a major step toward supporting youth sports development in Africa.
With Liberia included in the program, many local supporters are hopeful the initiative will contribute to strengthening grassroots football structures in the country.
