President Boakai has rolled out a new governance initiative aimed at bringing ordinary citizens closer to the heart of government accountability, officially launching what is being called the “Citizens Feedback” platform under the 2026 Performance Contract.

The initiative now gives Liberians across the country the opportunity to directly report on the performance of government officials by sending messages to a dedicated shortcode, 2424, accessible on both Orange and Lonestar networks.

Announcing the rollout, Cabinet Director Nathaniel Kawbo disclosed that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. is expected to personally review submissions from the public, signaling a hands-on approach to monitoring the work of his administration.

From Ministers to Directors and Commissioners to heads of agencies and public institutions, no official is exempt from public scrutiny under this new system. Citizens are being encouraged to share both positive and negative feedback, creating what the government describes as a more inclusive and transparent channel of communication.

Beyond performance reviews, the platform also opens the door for citizens to raise concerns about stalled development projects or flag instances of what authorities term “inaccurate reporting” by Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions. The goal, according to Kawbo, is to ensure that information reaching the public aligns with realities on the ground.

Branded as “Citizens Feedback,” the initiative forms part of the Boakai administration’s broader push to strengthen accountability mechanisms and improve service delivery across government.

But as this direct line between the presidency and the people takes shape, one question lingers, will citizens fully embrace the opportunity to speak up, and more importantly, will those in power respond when the spotlight turns on them?
