Authorities Hunt for Abraham Kamara as Grieving Family Demands Justice
A community is in mourning, and a nation is on alert as authorities intensify the search for Abraham Kamara, a man accused of masquerading as a licensed doctor, a deception that cost 39-year-old Madam Dorcas Vondeh her life.
Kamara, the operator of the now-notorious ABC Clinic in Gardnersville, allegedly performed an unauthorized fibroid removal surgery on Vondeh, despite lacking any legitimate medical qualifications. The procedure, which took place under dubious conditions, spiraled into tragedy when Vondeh developed severe complications. Instead of stabilizing her or transferring her to a proper facility, Kamara reportedly failed to follow basic medical protocols, leaving the mother to succumb to her injuries.
Friends and family of Vondeh say she had initially sought care at Redemption Hospital, where she was advised to undergo surgery, but only at a certified medical facility. Tragically, Kamara’s false claims of expertise convinced her to choose ABC Clinic instead.
“She trusted him because he presented himself as a professional,” said a relative, fighting back tears. “Now she’s gone, and he’s vanished without facing what he’s done.”
ABC Clinic was no stranger to controversy. Health authorities had previously shut it down for violating medical regulations, yet Kamara continued operating illegally for two years, without certification from the Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC).
“This is a blatant case of medical fraud and negligence,” said an LMDC representative. “We urge the public to come forward with any information on Kamara’s whereabouts before he harms anyone else.”
Liberian authorities have launched a sweeping search for Kamara, who fled after Vondeh’s death. He faces charges including fraudulent practice, operating without a medical license, and criminal negligence resulting in death.
As the hunt continues, Vondeh’s family pleads for justice. “He took a life, destroyed a family, and must answer for it,” her brother said. “No one else should suffer like this.”
