Kakata, Margibi County – Developments in the ongoing cocaine trafficking trial at the 13th Judicial Circuit Court have taken a dramatic turn, with Liberian businesswoman Quita Kosso Dolo reportedly admitting guilt to charges linked to the importation of illegal narcotics into the country.

Dolo, who has been at the center of a widely followed drug case since her arrest at the Roberts International Airport (RIA), entered a guilty plea during court proceedings held on Friday. Another defendant identified as Adudlla Sheriff also reportedly pleaded guilty before the court.

The case stems from the seizure of more than 3 kilograms of cocaine allegedly discovered concealed in Dolo’s luggage after she arrived in Liberia from Bangkok, Thailand, aboard Kenya Airways Flight KQ887.

According to court documents, four additional defendants connected to the matter, including officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), denied the charges and pleaded not guilty, setting the stage for further legal proceedings.

Authorities say the confiscated cocaine carries an estimated street value exceeding US$181,000, making it one of the notable airport drug interceptions in recent months.

The case has continued to attract public attention amid Liberia’s intensified crackdown on narcotics trafficking under the country’s revised anti-drug laws, which classify several drug-related offenses as non-bailable.

More details surrounding the guilty pleas and the roles of the remaining defendants are expected to emerge as the trial progresses.
