MONROVIA, Liberia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has charged Augustine Lendeh, commonly known as “T-Boy,” with murder in connection with the death of Oretha Paye in the Omega Old Field Community in Paynesville.
According to a statement issued by the LNP Press and Public Affairs Division on Thursday, the alleged incident occurred on July 29, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m.
Police said Paye was discovered about 26 feet from Lendeh’s residence with multiple injuries and showing no signs of life.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that Paye’s mother, identified by authorities as Alice Flomo, told investigators that her daughter had gone to Lendeh’s residence to retrieve some personal clothing but did not return home.
Investigators also reportedly established that Lendeh had allegedly assaulted Paye on a previous occasion. Police said the alleged prior assault formed part of the evidence reviewed during the investigation.
Following the investigation, Lendeh was arrested in neighboring Sierra Leone and subsequently turned over to Liberian authorities.
The LNP said Lendeh has been formally charged with murder under Section 14.1 of the New Penal Law of Liberia and has been forwarded to court for prosecution.
The case will now proceed through the judicial process, where the allegations against Lendeh will be addressed in accordance with Liberian law.
The Liberia National Police said the charge is part of its ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Paye’s death.
Lendeh is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
