Liberian rapper King Dennis appears to have thrown shade at his former label, Bilikon Entertainment, following the label’s signing of fellow rapper Mr. Church. Bilikon recently announced Mr. Church as its latest signing, months after parting ways with King Dennis, who previously served as the label’s frontline artist.

Reacting to the announcement, King Dennis wrote:

You can’t stop the sun from shining, but rather make use of it while it shines.😊❤️!

The statement which is a reference to himself, with the “sun” seemingly representing his success and run as Bilikon’s frontline artist. By saying the sun cannot be stopped from shining but should instead be used while it shines, King Dennis is suggesting that Bilikon Entertainment had a successful artist in him but failed to make the most of his time with the label.

He followed the message with an even more pointed remark:

“God na making another hit songs machine”

King Dennis Facebook Post

King Dennis, referring to himself as the “hit songs machine” is reminding Bilikon of the string of successful songs he produced during his time with the label and suggesting that finding another artist capable of delivering hits at his level will not be an easy task.

The comments come at an interesting time as Bilikon looks to begin a new chapter with Mr. Church. Mr. Church and King Dennis also have a history, having previously been involved in a highly publicized industry beef where Mr. Church called King Dennis an “ABC Rapper”. With Mr. Church now joining the same label that once had King Dennis as its frontline artist, the move has naturally attracted attention from fans of Liberian music.

For King Dennis, however, his latest message seems less like a welcome to Mr. Church and more like a reminder to Bilikon that the artist they previously had was already a proven hit-maker and whether Mr. Church can fill that space or create a new one for himself at Bilikon is yet to be seen, but King Dennis appears confident that replacing his hit-making run will be a difficult task.
