Monrovia, Liberia – An old interview featuring Liberian music star CIC is once again gaining attention on social media after comments he made about music collaborations and feature pricing resurfaced online.

The interview, recorded approximately 34 weeks ago with YouTuber Phizzle, has recently begun circulating again, reigniting conversations among fans and entertainment followers.

During the discussion, CIC stated that on a serious business level, no Liberian artist can truly afford him for a feature. According to the award-winning singer, many of the collaborations he has done within Liberia were not primarily business transactions but rather acts of friendship and support for the country’s music culture.

Explaining his position, CIC referenced some of his past collaborations, including Teddyride’s “Wleesayma” and Will Flash’s “My Ex,” revealing that he did not charge for those appearances.

According to the singer, such collaborations were more about relationships and contributing to the growth of Liberian music than financial gain.

Since the clip resurfaced, reactions online have remained divided. Some supporters argue that CIC has spent years building one of Liberia’s strongest music brands and therefore has every right to determine his professional value and pricing.

Others, however, believe the statement came across as dismissive toward the local music industry and fellow artists.

The renewed conversation has also revived long-standing speculation surrounding CIC’s alleged feature fee. For years, rumors have circulated claiming the singer charges around US$5,000 for a feature, although CIC has never publicly confirmed any official amount.

As debate continues online, the resurfaced interview has once again placed discussions about artist valuation, collaboration culture, and business standards within Liberia’s music industry under public spotlight.
