Reports that surfaced on the internet earlier claiming that Liberia’s Commerce Inspector General, D. Dorr Cooper, had to escape the graduation ceremony of the University of Liberia after allegedly discovering that his name was not on the list of graduates, are FALSE and MISLEADING.

It is important to clarify that graduands’ names being mistakenly omitted from the souvenir book is not unusual. In fact, a similar issue occurred during the last graduation ceremony, but it was later corrected. Such mistakes happen from time to time and are typically rectified by the university without any fanfare.

We want to emphasize that Inspector General Cooper remains a part of the graduating class and did not flee the ceremony as reported. The circulation of this misinformation is unfortunate, and we urge the public to rely on verified sources before jumping to conclusions.

With that said, congratulations to Honorable D. Dorr Cooper on this milestone achievement! We celebrate his accomplishment and look forward to his continued service to Liberia.
