President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has departed Liberia for Conakry, Guinea, where he will join the leaders of Guinea and Sierra Leone in high-level talks aimed at easing the growing tensions along the Liberia–Guinea border in Lofa County. The meeting is expected to focus on diplomatic solutions and strengthening regional cooperation to prevent further escalation.

Senator Nathaniel F. McGill has been cleared by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission of allegations related to payroll padding at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs between 2018 and 2023. According to the LACC, investigators found no probable cause to pursue criminal charges after reviewing the available evidence, leading to the closure of the case.

The group says secrecy around pricing, approvals, and operations could turn a major infrastructure opportunity into what it calls a “Yellow Fraud.”
