The 2024/2025 National County Sports Meet (NCSM) has proven to be both a sporting and financial triumph with the latest financial report reveals that the tournament brought in a total income of USD 331,000 and LRD 41,123,002.85, underscoring its growing economic impact. After accounting for expenditures totaling USD 295,654 and LRD 32,045,360.00, the event recorded a healthy surplus of USD 35,346 and LRD 9,077,642.85.
The NCSM, Liberia’s premier multi-sport competition, brings together athletes from across the country in football, kickball, and other disciplines, fostering unity and national pride. This year’s financial success highlights the event’s increasing popularity and effective management.
With a surplus secured, attention now turns to how the funds will be reinvested into Liberia’s sports sector. Stakeholders, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports and county sports associations, are expected to discuss strategies for improving infrastructure, training programs, and athlete support.
“The NCSM is more than just games, it’s an investment in our youth and our future,” said one sports official. “This surplus provides an opportunity to enhance facilities, provide better equipment, and nurture the next generation of Liberian athletes.”
As the excitement from this year’s tournament settles, organizers and fans alike are optimistic about the future. The financial gains not only validate the event’s significance but also set a positive precedent for future editions.
With proper allocation of the surplus, the NCSM could play an even greater role in uplifting Liberian sports, ensuring that the passion and talent on display continue to thrive for years to come.
