Musk shared the news with his followers on X, underscoring Blindsight’s transformative potential, particularly for individuals facing severe blindness. “Blindsight will enable even those without functional eyes or optic nerves to regain vision,” Musk stated. He further explained that while early results may resemble the pixelated graphics of an old Atari game, the long-term potential of the device could surpass natural vision, with users eventually able to perceive infrared, ultraviolet, or even radar-like wavelengths.

Founded in 2016, Neuralink is focused on developing advanced brain-computer interfaces to address various neurological disorders. Its brain implant reads neural signals and transmits them to external devices, such as computers or smartphones, offering new possibilities for communication and control. Alongside Blindsight, Neuralink is working on technology to help paralyzed individuals control digital devices using only their thoughts.
