Just 72 hours after an armed robbery shook the community, local law enforcement apprehended two suspects believed to be behind the crime. Jamel Davis, 28, widely known by the alias “Triple Red,” and Darius Neor, 30, referred to as “Jump Over It,” were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
According to Grand Bassa County Crime Services Department (CSD) Commander Sophie Mantson, the duo has been linked to multiple robberies in the area, often using machetes to intimidate their victims.
“The suspects have a pattern of violent robberies, and we acted swiftly to ensure they were taken off the streets,” Commander Mantson stated. “Thanks to community cooperation and diligent police work, we were able to locate and arrest them within three days of the crime.”
Details of the robbery have not been fully disclosed, but authorities confirmed that the suspects allegedly targeted a local business before fleeing the scene. Investigators tracked them down following tips from residents and surveillance efforts.
Davis and Neor are currently in custody awaiting trial. If convicted, they could face significant prison time given their alleged involvement in previous armed robberies.
Commander Mantson urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, emphasizing that community involvement is crucial in combating crime.
“This arrest sends a clear message: criminal activity will not be tolerated in Buchanan,” she said. “We will continue to work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe.”
As the investigation continues, local business owners and residents expressed relief over the arrests, hopeful that the swift police response will deter future crimes.
