The opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has issued a stern warning to its Legislative Caucus members, threatening expulsion for those who fail to attend an urgent meeting with the National Executive Committee today. This high-stakes meeting aims to resolve the ongoing deadlock on Capitol Hill, with the CDC’s Political Leader, George Manneh Weah, expected to join via Zoom.

The CDC’s leadership has also leveled serious accusations against president Joseph Boakai, claiming that he is attempting to destabilize the government. The party demands that Boakai halt any harassment of Speaker Bhofal Chambers within 72 hours or face consequences, including mass protests calling for his impeachment.

In a bid to dispel rumors, the CDC emphasized that its Deputy Speaker has no involvement in any plot to remove the Speaker, refuting claims made by Boakai’s supporters. The Party leaders are urging unity among their members during this critical period, stressing that internal cohesion is vital to maintaining stability in the government.

As tensions rise, all eyes are on the CDC’s next moves and how Boakai will respond to these serious charges.
