In June of 2024, the B.W. Harris Episcopal High School made waves in the Liberian chess scene by clinching the coveted title at the 2024 Inter-School Team Chess Championship, under the leadership of the talented Abigail Karyah. Her tactical brilliance and leadership propelled her team to victory, marking a significant achievement for the school.

Fast forward to the global stage, and Abigail is making even bigger strides at the Chess Olympiad 2024 in Budapest, Hungary. In a stunning display of skill, she has won six consecutive games, defeating chess players from a diverse range of countries including Brazil, Panama, Vanuatu, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, and South Korea.

We eagerly await her next move as she continues to represent Liberia with pride at the Chess Olympiad.
