The 8th Judicial Circuit Court in Nimba County has sentenced two men to life imprisonment for the gang rape of a 29-year-old pregnant woman. The ruling was delivered on Thursday by the Resident Judge of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court in Sanniquellie, following a lengthy legal process.
The convicted men, Emmanuel F. Saye, 26, and Emmanuel Nyanplue, 20, were employed by a security company, Loyal Protective Guard Services (LPGS), at the time of the crime. They were part of a group of twelve men accused of committing the heinous act against the woman, who was seven months pregnant at the time.
Reports suggest that the remaining ten suspects managed to flee the country, escaping to neighboring Guinea and Ivory Coast. Despite the conviction, the whereabouts of the survivor remain unknown.
