“First off, you can’t be a thief and calling someone a thief. You can’t be a faker and ca someone a faker. If you want to talk to people about being real, the credibility of your originality should be genuine.” These could be thoughts that were roaming the minds of Teddyride when he saw the post of Skinnyboi Kpanto lashing at liberian artist who sound foreign in the songs in the name of trying to break through the African Music Market.
Just some hours ago, Kpanto took to his Facebook account to lash out at liberian artist who sound like Nigerian on their songs. According to the Holy Records frontline man, it’s stupid for a Liberian artist to think he/she is gonna try to sound like a Nigerian and penetrate the Africa Music Industry, when there are thousands of good underground Nigerian artists who originates from the country itself and are still striving to make hits in the own country and with their own local language (pidgin).
In his Facebook post he said: “ How the hell u want ur music penetrate The African music market but u trying to sound like a Nigerian or a Ghanaian🙄🙄, u making b*tt if u think that thing gonna penetrate the African music market 😆
U know how many upcoming artist In Nigeria and Ghana that’s trying to blow and u sounding like one of them, and u na even from d people country so who gonna support u??😂😂😂😂
u better take that free money that u’re using to pay for these projects and donate it to d less fortunate people out here cus they need it more 😡
No matter what d circumstances I’ll always be original cus originality is a gift by itslef💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
President Weah songs seh better than that trash y’all be singing talking about y’all wanna penetrate the African music market that’s y y’all sounding like that😂😂😂😂
Koloqua to d world 🌎
I said what I said , my eating pan na in nobody house😎”
But Teddyride didn’t take this lightly as he feels Kpanto should be focusing more on being more creative on his art than looking down on others who are far bigger and better than him.
In response to Kpanto’s post he said: “But if u want others to stop singing like Nigerian ur seh Should stop remaking Nigerian songs patterns n beats
Last time that other song u drop sounds like Allow me to enjoy myself
The new one sounds like wizkid song
Music is creativity…
If people vibing to ur songs, it’s blessings…
Focus on the craft, let’s push an Industry together
We all na making shit from it but we tryna make it
Stop dragging people
Especially ones who older than u or ones that been fighting to give it a look wen u was still Kehkehleh”
Well we’re hopeful Kpanto won’t take this lightly and a response is certain.
