The world woke up to a big relief when WHO announced the end of the search for a vaccine to cure Covid 19. COVAX is the vaccines pillar of the ACT-Accelerator, convened by CEPI GAVI and WHO, is speeding up the search for an effective vaccine for all countries. At the same time, it is supporting the building of manufacturing capabilities, and buying supply, ahead of time so that 2 billion doses can be fairly distributed by the end of 2021.
COVAX which is also a global initiative aimed at equitable access to covid19 vaccines has given Liberia 96,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines out of 364,000 doses. And the remaining 268,000 doses is expected to enter the country anytime soon. The vaccines also came with financing from Team Europe.
