MONROVIA – Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah has delivered a sharp critique of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), accusing its current leadership of internal deception, exclusion, and losing control of the party’s direction.

Speaking Monday on OK FM’s Morning Rush, Fallah claimed that the CDC is no longer operating in the interest of its broader membership, alleging that a small group of influential figures has taken over the party. According to him, these individuals are misleading former President George Weah and failing to act in the party’s long-term interest.

“The elites have hijacked the CDC,” Fallah stated, expressing concern that key decisions are now being driven by personal interests rather than collective party goals.

He further advised former President Weah not to contest the 2029 presidential election, urging him instead to step back from active politics. Fallah emphasized that his recommendation was made out of respect, but insisted that those currently leading the party would not be able to return Weah to power.

“My concern is that the people around him are not being truthful. They will not deliver on the promises they are making,” he said.

Fallah also voiced sympathy for younger CDC supporters, noting that their dedication and efforts are being undermined by what he described as a disconnect between the party’s grassroots and its leadership.

“There is a clear internal crack within the CDC,” he added, warning that ongoing divisions could further weaken the party.

In one of his most striking remarks, Fallah suggested that the CDC’s ongoing headquarters construction project could eventually be repurposed due to mismanagement. He claimed the facility may one day serve as a private law firm rather than a political headquarters, though he did not provide evidence or name individuals allegedly involved.

Additionally, the Deputy Speaker hinted at impending actions related to Representative Yekeh Kolubah, without offering further details.

Once a prominent member of the CDC, Fallah has since aligned himself with President Joseph Boakai and has publicly supported his potential reelection bid in 2029. His latest comments underscore deepening tensions within the CDC as the party navigates internal challenges ahead of future elections.
