MONROVIA, Liberia –The Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA) has concluded a successful awareness roadshow across Montserrado County, aimed at strengthening compliance, licensing, and fee payment within Liberia’s tourism and creative sectors.

The outreach initiative, which covered several key locations across the county, forms part of the LNTA’s broader strategy to formalize and regulate the industry while promoting sustainable tourism development. The exercise specifically targeted tourism operators, cultural enterprises, and event planners, many of whom operate outside formal regulatory frameworks.

Leading the engagement, LNTA Director General Princess Eva Cooper underscored the importance of compliance in building a credible and competitive tourism sector. She stressed that proper registration and licensing are critical to ensuring quality service delivery, boosting visitor confidence, and unlocking growth opportunities for businesses.

“Compliance is not just a requirement—it is a pathway to growth, credibility, and access to opportunities,” Madam Cooper stated during the engagement.

The roadshow featured a series of awareness activities, including the distribution of informational flyers outlining key procedures for registration, licensing, and regulatory compliance. LNTA teams also provided on-the-spot guidance to business owners, addressing concerns and encouraging unregistered operators to begin the process of formalization.

According to Madam Cooper, taking the awareness campaign directly to businesses is essential in bridging the information gap and ensuring that operators clearly understand their obligations and benefits within the sector.

She further praised the LNTA team for their commitment and collaborative spirit throughout the exercise, noting that their enthusiasm played a key role in the initiative’s success. “Your energy and positive attitude were the heartbeat of this event. The way you supported one another and stepped up during the roadshow truly demonstrated the power of teamwork,” she added.

The roadshow aligns with ongoing national efforts to position Liberia as a viable tourism destination by strengthening regulation, improving service standards, and fostering a more organized and compliant industry.
