Tension that had been building quietly behind the scenes has finally spilled into the open as Liberian artist Lil Moore officially parts ways with SOG Records.

For months, fans have noticed the subtle friction. Online exchanges, indirect posts, and silent treatments painted a picture that all was not well between Lil Moore and the label that helped shape his rise. Critics repeatedly accused SOG of sidelining the young star, arguing that the label appeared to give more promotional energy to artists like Will Flash and Jaredo.

Those whispers grew louder few weeks when SOG Records CEO King Jaffar took to Facebook to praise Will Flash, describing him as “a very talented and humble kid.” While the post did not mention Lil Moore, many fans interpreted it as a subtle comparison and favoritism within the label, especially given the timing.

Hours later, Lil Moore responded with a message of his own.

He declared that if speaking up for himself makes him look rude, then he would rather be bold than be underestimated. He emphasized that standing up for his rights and dreams is not optional, it is necessary. The message struck a chord with supporters who have long felt the artist deserved stronger backing.

The situation comes at a critical moment. Sources confirm that Lil Moore has been in a formal termination process with SOG Records for months. What once appeared to be minor disagreements has now evolved into a full separation.

Breaking his silence for the first time since the saga intensified, King Jaffar shared what many believe was a pointed parable aimed at the departing artist.

I rather teach you how to fish than to give u the bony that won’t last you!!

Though brief, the statement carried weight. To some, it suggested mentorship and tough love. To others, it hinted at frustration.

But the biggest development came from Lil Moore’s management team, who issued an official statement confirming the split:

I would like to officially inform the general public, promoters, business partners, and supporters that I am no longer affiliated with SOG Record. At this time, both parties are currently going through a formal termination process regarding our previous agreement. Therefore, I kindly advise everyone that SOG Record is not authorized to conduct any business, bookings, negotiations, or financial transactions on my behalf. If you wish to contact me for shows, collaborations, or any official business, please reach out directly to me or my verified management team.

The statement also provided updated booking contacts, signaling that Lil Moore is ready to move forward independently.

The breakup marks a significant shift in Liberia’s music scene. Lil Moore’s journey with SOG Records produced memorable hits and helped solidify his place among the country’s promising talents. Yet, as the industry evolves, so do ambitions.

Now the big question remains: Is this the beginning of a stronger, more independent Lil Moore, or will the split leave lasting scars on both sides?
