Liberian forward William Gibson has taken a major step in his football career after completing a move to Swedish side Hammarby IF.
The transfer, confirmed by Fella Sports Management, will see the promising young striker begin his European journey with Hammarby Talang FF, the club’s development squad competing in Sweden’s Ettan Norra league.
Ettan Norra is widely regarded as a competitive platform tailored for nurturing emerging talents, offering young players the opportunity to adjust to the demands and structure of European football while refining their skills.
Fella Sports Management described the move as a reflection of Gibson’s discipline, commitment, and growing reputation as a forward with strong potential. The transfer also marks his first professional experience on the European stage—an important milestone in his development.
The agency further acknowledged the role of Global Soccer Management for their collaboration in successfully facilitating the deal.
Gibson now joins a growing list of Liberian players seeking to establish themselves in Europe, with expectations that consistent performances in Sweden could pave the way for promotion to Hammarby’s senior team and broader opportunities across the continent.
