Monrovia, Liberia — The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has concluded its investigation into allegations of corruption involving former Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA), Emma Metieh Glassco, and found no evidence to support claims of criminal wrongdoing.
According to a formal determination issued by the Commission, a detailed probe into the alleged misuse of funds connected to the construction of NaFAA’s headquarters, financed under a World Bank–supported fisheries program, did not establish any criminal intent or personal liability on the part of Glassco.
The LACC stated that its assessment of financial records, project documents, and other relevant materials failed to produce grounds for prosecution. As a result, the former NaFAA head has been officially cleared, and no charges were brought against her.
The clearance was approved by the Commission’s Executive Chairperson, Alexandra K. Zoe.
The investigation centered on the administration and utilization of funds provided through an initiative backed by the World Bank to support Liberia’s fisheries sector. With the findings now released, the Commission confirmed that the case has been closed without further action.
The outcome brings an end to months of scrutiny surrounding the management of donor-funded projects at NaFAA and marks a significant development in the public discourse over accountability in Liberia’s public institutions.
