U.S. federal authorities have taken a 45-year-old Liberian national, Morris Brown, into custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in connection with alleged immigration fraud.

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Brown was arrested on January 15 during Operation Twin Shield, a coordinated enforcement initiative targeting individuals suspected of violating U.S. immigration laws. The operation is jointly led by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Investigators allege that Brown entered the United States in 2014 on a student visa but failed to depart after its expiration. Authorities further claim that he later enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard despite not having lawful immigration status at the time.

Federal officials say Brown subsequently submitted applications for permanent residency and U.S. citizenship that contained false information. These alleged misrepresentations reportedly included inaccurate claims regarding prior military service and his citizenship status. At the time of his arrest, Brown was said to be employed as a corrections officer in Minnesota.

The case remains under federal investigation, and authorities have not yet disclosed additional details regarding potential charges or court proceedings.
