BUCHANAN, Liberia — Multiple sources with direct knowledge of an active police investigation have identified Alex T. Flampor, a patrolman of the Liberia National Police (LNP), as the officer allegedly linked to a reported rape complaint now drawing widespread public attention.

The officer, according to the sources, is assigned to the Fair Ground Police Station and works the Alpha shift. His identification follows initial reluctance by police authorities to publicly disclose the suspect’s full identity.

Earlier, Police Commander Fasu Sheriff confirmed awareness of the complaint but told reporters that the family of the complainant had referenced only “one Alex” in their communication. Subsequent verification by investigators, however, has now established the officer’s full name as Alex Flampor.

Commander Sheriff has reiterated that the allegation is being handled with seriousness and caution. He stressed that investigators are proceeding in line with due process, noting that conclusions will only be made after all facts are thoroughly examined. “The investigation is ongoing, and the public will be informed once it is concluded,” he said.

Information available indicates that the complaint was formally raised by relatives of the alleged victim, who claim the incident occurred in the Biafra Community. The victim, described as underage, was reportedly taken to a government-run hospital for medical attention following the alleged incident.

As of this report, no formal charges have been filed against the officer, and the case remains under active investigation. Police authorities say updates will be provided as developments occur, amid growing calls for transparency and accountability within the LNP.
