Monrovia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has issued a clarification regarding a video circulating on Facebook that shows individuals dressed in security-style uniforms and identifying themselves as the “National Fula Security of Liberia.”
In an official statement, the LNP said it has never held meetings with the group featured in the video and does not recognize or have prior knowledge of the organization before the footage surfaced on social media. The police stressed that the appearance of the video was the first time the institution became aware of the group’s claimed identity.
According to the statement, the matter is now under review by the Public Safety Division of the Ministry of Justice, which is assessing the situation. The LNP noted that further information will be shared with the public as consultations and discussions progress.
Meanwhile, the police have urged citizens to remain calm and continue cooperating with law enforcement authorities. The LNP encouraged the public to promptly report any suspicious activities that could pose a risk to community safety, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining law and order across the country.
