The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) on Tuesday unveiled a 25-kilogram Premium Long Grain Rice brand during activities marking the 69th Armed Forces Day celebration.
The rice, branded under the AFL Agriculture Company with the slogan “Force for Good,” is a locally grown and processed product that is now ready for commercial distribution on the Liberian market.
The launch highlights the military’s expanding role beyond its traditional mandate of national defense. By investing in agriculture, the AFL is contributing directly to Liberia’s food security efforts and broader national development agenda.
Military authorities described the initiative as part of a strategic effort to support local production, reduce reliance on imported rice, and strengthen economic resilience. The project reflects the institution’s commitment to serving the country not only through security operations, but also through sustainable development programs.
The introduction of the premium rice brand at such a symbolic national event underscores the Armed Forces’ message that it remains a “Force for Good,” dedicated to the well-being and progress of the Liberian people.
The milestone has been widely welcomed as a significant step toward promoting locally produced goods and encouraging agricultural investment across the country.
