After four months of investigation, alleged sexual blackmailer Daniel M. Daye has been arrested by the Liberia National Police following his return to Liberia to celebrate his birthday.
Daye, a Canada-based Liberian, was taken into custody yesterday and is currently being held at the LNP Central Headquarters. Police say he spent the night in detention and is expected to be forwarded to court to answer to multiple allegations.
He is accused of repeatedly blackmailing young Liberian girls by threatening to leak private videos and conversations. According to investigators, materials recovered from his phone are deeply disturbing and form a critical part of the ongoing case.
Authorities have assured the public that the matter is being treated with the seriousness it deserves and that due process will be followed. Videos circulating online show the suspect at the police station, reportedly writing his statement.
The Liberia National Police is urging anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Daniel M. Daye to come forward, report the matter, and file an official complaint.
Justice may be delayed, but it will not be denied.
Update on Arrest of Alleged Sexual Blackmailer Daniel M. Daye
Nearly 16 hours after the arrest of Daniel M. Daye, also known as “Mr. Canada,” for allegedly threatening multiple women with the release of their nude photos and videos, the case remains at a critical stage.
According to information from the Liberia National Police at the Central Police Station, investigators are urging at least one or two alleged victims to come forward in person with evidence to formally support the case. As of now, no complainant has appeared to submit documentation or statements.
Police sources warn that without direct victim cooperation and evidence, the suspect could be released within 24 hours, as required by law. This raises serious concerns, especially as authorities stress that silence and inaction only embolden perpetrators and place victims at further risk.
Law enforcement is again calling on anyone affected by these alleged threats to report immediately. This is a crucial moment for justice, accountability, and the protection of others who may be targeted.
The LNP says the door remains open for victims to come forward before the legal window closes.
