A Cameroonian-Liberian man, Finney George Ojong, has shared a deeply personal testimony of recovery after spending seven months blind and undergoing an intense series of medical procedures.
According to Ojong, he visited six different hospitals and underwent seven surgeries within six months as doctors fought to save his vision. The cost of treatment, he said, ran into thousands of dollars, funds he did not have but somehow managed to secure.
Throughout this period, Ojong described facing daily suicidal thoughts and severe depression as his condition worsened. Despite the challenges, he said he found strength in persistent prayer and support from his family, church, and close friends.
“Prayer works! Jesus Christ heals!” he wrote as he announced that his sight had been restored. He credited the recovery to what he described as divine intervention after “countless hours of prayers.”

Ojong expressed gratitude to his church community, his mother, his older brother Simeon, his wife, siblings Wesley and Lois, and friends including Willie and Vicky, along with others who supported him through what he calls the darkest period of his life.
He also revealed that the health crisis pushed him to take his overall well-being more seriously, noting that he has lost 66 pounds to date.
Ojong’s story has drawn attention across social media, with many Liberians celebrating his recovery and offering words of encouragement.
