The Liberia National Police (LNP) has confirmed the arrest and imprisonment of seven individuals, including one woman, in connection with a violent disturbance that erupted during a court-ordered eviction on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
According to police reports, the group allegedly disrupted the eviction process, brandishing cutlasses and causing chaos in the area. Videos capturing the incident quickly circulated on social media, prompting swift intervention from law enforcement officers.
The suspects, identified as Augibou Berry (52), Muatala Musa (52), Oumaru Armade (20), Amara Kromah (31), Makama Kamara (adult female), Karmo Sannoh (48), and Abu Keita (adult male), have been charged and remanded at the Monrovia Central Prison. They made their first court appearance on Monday, November 3, 2025.
In a statement, the LNP urged citizens to remain law-abiding and to respect judicial decisions, warning that any attempt to undermine the rule of law or disturb public peace will be met with decisive action.
Police authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and upholding the authority of the courts across Liberia.
