President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has been honored with the prestigious Grand Prix Award at the 17th MEDays Forum, held Tuesday in Tangier, Morocco.
The Grand Prix, one of the highest distinctions bestowed by the Amadeus Institute, recognizes transformative leadership, strong governance, and efforts that advance peace, development, and cooperation across the Global South. Organizers praised President Boakai for his commitment to democratic values, regional solidarity, and sustainable development, alongside his advocacy for a stronger and more influential African voice on the world stage.
The ceremony took place at the Palais des Arts et de la Culture, where Forum representatives commended the Liberian Leader for promoting political stability and championing Africa’s role in shaping global decision-making.
In his acceptance remarks, President Boakai extended appreciation to the Amadeus Institute and the Kingdom of Morocco. He emphasized that the award is not merely a personal achievement but a tribute to the resilience, progress, and aspirations of the Liberian people and the wider African continent.
“This award highlights the importance of Africa’s voice in reimagining the global order,” he noted. “Liberia stands ready to work with partners in shaping a future that is fair, peaceful, and inclusive.”
Widely described as the “Davos of the Global South,” the MEDays Forum gathers global leaders, policymakers, and experts to examine shifting geopolitical landscapes and explore strategies for shared prosperity.
