Monrovia, Liberia – The National Transit Authority (NTA) has officially received the first batch of thirty-five (35) brand-new TATA buses, marking a major step toward strengthening Liberia’s public transportation network.
The delivery is part of a larger procurement deal totaling sixty (60) vehicles under a contractual agreement between the NTA and ABK Motors Incorporated. The full fleet includes thirty-five (35) 62-seater mass transit buses, twenty (20) 18-seater mini-buses, and five (5) heavy-duty cargo trucks.
This initiative stems from a resolution passed by the NTA Board of Directors during its January 2025 sitting, which authorized management to finalize and execute the agreement with ABK Motors Incorporated.
According to the NTA, the new additions will significantly enhance operational capacity and improve the delivery of efficient, affordable, and reliable transport services nationwide. The inclusion of heavy-duty cargo trucks, the first in the NTA’s history, represents a groundbreaking expansion of its services to include logistics and cargo handling.
The arrival of these 35 brand-new buses aligns with the Government of Liberia’s broader vision to modernize the nation’s public transport system. With more mini-buses and cargo trucks expected in the coming months, the partnership between the NTA and ABK Motors demonstrates a firm commitment to advancing mobility, economic growth, and accessibility across Liberia.
