A tragic incident in Todee Statutory District has left residents in shock after a man, identified as Abraham Mator, allegedly killed his wife, Esther David, during a dispute over a mobile phone on November 23.
According to community accounts, the altercation began when Mator refused to allow Esther access to the phone, sparking a struggle between the couple. Esther, who had recently undergone surgery and was reportedly weakened, collapsed during the confrontation and later died from her injuries. Neighbors say the pair had a long history of domestic violence.
Mator was quickly apprehended by community members and handed over to police, but residents have expressed frustration over what they describe as a slow response from law enforcement.
The community is now calling for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and is urging authorities to deploy additional police officers to the area to help prevent similar incidents.
