President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has announced the appointment of Ms. Princess Eva Cooper as Director General and Mr. Dogba K. Norris, Jr. as Deputy Director General for Planning, Research, and Development of the newly established Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA). The appointments take immediate effect.
The decision follows the recent enactment of the 2025 Liberia National Tourism Act, which officially created the LNTA under Title 30 of the Public Authorities Law. The formation of this Authority represents a key milestone in the government’s efforts to transform and modernize Liberia’s tourism industry.
According to the Executive Mansion, the LNTA will serve as the central institution responsible for advancing the nation’s tourism development agenda, promoting Liberia’s cultural heritage, and enhancing the country’s global image as an attractive destination for travel and investment.
President Boakai expressed confidence that the newly appointed officials will bring innovation and effective leadership to the sector, driving programs that strengthen planning, research, and sustainable development in tourism.
He further emphasized that the appointments align with the government’s broader vision under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, aimed at fostering growth across key national sectors, including tourism and culture.
