In a significant boost for Liberian football, FIFA has appointed Liberia Football Association (LFA) President Mustapha I. Raji as Deputy Chairman of the FIFA Olympics Football Committee for the 2025–2029 term.
The announcement was made on Thursday, October 2, during a FIFA Council meeting in Zurich. Raji’s appointment follows extensive consultations between FIFA, its Member Associations, and regional confederations as part of the formation of the new Standing Committees for the next four-year period.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the newly established committees will strengthen collaboration with Member Associations and confederations, promote gender inclusion, and bring deeper technical expertise into football governance.
“The new Standing Committees will lead to greater involvement of our Member Associations, the confederations and other stakeholders in our decision-making processes, increased female representation and more focused technical expertise in various areas relevant to football,” Infantino stated.
Raji’s inclusion in this prestigious role reflects the growing influence and credibility of Liberian football administration on the global stage. The Liberia Football Association has extended warm congratulations to its president, expressing confidence that his leadership will continue to inspire growth across both African and world football.
