Liberia’s FC Fassell and Determine Girls have announced their return to the spotlight in grand fashion as both clubs claimed the 2025 LFA Super Cup titles in their respective divisions at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
The season’s curtain-raiser delivered moments of excitement, tactical brilliance, and raw emotion as fans witnessed the two champions showcase their readiness for the 2025/26 Liberian football season.
FC Fassell Grind Past Black Man Warriors to Lift Men’s Super Cup
In the men’s division, FC Fassell sealed a hard-fought 1–0 win over Black Man Warriors to capture their first Super Cup title since returning to top-flight football.
Both sides started cautiously, with disciplined defending and fierce midfield battles preventing any early breakthrough. But the deadlock was broken in the second half after Fassell’s forward was brought down inside the box, leaving the referee with no choice but to award a penalty.
In a show of leadership and calm, goalkeeper Ahmad Savage stepped up and converted the spot-kick with precision, sending the Warriors’ keeper the wrong way.
Black Man Warriors pressed relentlessly for an equalizer, but Fassell’s organized backline stood firm until the final whistle. The victory not only handed Fassell their long-awaited Super Cup crown but also signaled the club’s resurgence and ambition for the new season.
Determine Girls Edge World Girls 2–1 in Women’s Super Cup Thriller
Reigning champions Determine Girls once again proved their dominance in Liberian women’s football, edging a determined World Girls FC 2–1 in a heated and thrilling encounter.
Dalphine Glao opened the scoring with a sensational strike from distance that gave the World Girls goalkeeper no chance, putting Determine Girls ahead at halftime.
World Girls came back stronger after the break, pressing high and showing impressive ball control. Their persistence paid off when Gloria Targbe equalized from close range, setting up a tense finish.
However, just when the game seemed destined for penalties, a late free kick caused confusion in the World Girls defense, and goalkeeper misjudgment allowed Bendu Yantay to slot home the decisive goal.
It was heartbreak for World Girls, but jubilation for Determine Girls, who lifted yet another piece of silverware, reaffirming their position as Liberia’s most dominant women’s football club.
