A medical examination has confirmed that a 14-year-old girl was raped, allegedly by Sando S. Kromah, a Procurement Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, according to a source close to the victim’s family.
The report, issued by the Star of the Sea Clinic in West Point, is supported by an investigation conducted by the Women and Children Protection Section of the Liberia National Police (LNP). The alleged incident occurred on September 25, 2025, at the suspect’s residence in Vai Town.
Following the incident, community members intervened and detained the suspect, turning him over to the LNP, where he remains in custody at the central headquarters on Capitol Bye-Pass.
In a troubling development, recordings have surfaced in which relatives of the accused are heard threatening the victim’s family, allegedly claiming, “We have money, and we will take this case wherever we want.” The source also reported that Kromah’s family has been pressuring the victim’s family to accept a financial settlement out of court. The victim’s family has refused, insisting on pursuing justice through the legal system.
Meanwhile, the victim is receiving medical treatment and counseling and is currently in the care of her aunt in central Monrovia.
The suspect, Sando S. Kromah, is expected to be formally charged and sent to court on Monday, October 1, 2025.
