Liberian club FC Fassell has been left stranded at an airport in Algeria following their arrival at 9:40 AM today, with players reportedly forced to sleep on the floor due to unresolved visa complications.
According to journalist Jaheim Tumu, the situation has taken a troubling turn as the team remains without proper accommodation. Photos and reports suggest players had no option but to rest on the airport floor while waiting for clearance.
Adding to the frustration, no representatives from MC Alger were present to receive FC Fassell upon arrival. This stands in sharp contrast to the warm reception MC Alger received when they traveled to Liberia for the first leg of their continental fixture, an expected courtesy in such competitions.
In response, FC Fassell has officially lodged a complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The club cites MC Alger’s failure to host the visiting team and the disruption caused to their travel and lodging as grounds for intervention.
The incident has sparked debate over fairness, hospitality, and CAF’s role in ensuring equal treatment for competing clubs across the continent.
