Deputy Minister of Information Daniel Sando has cautioned the public against rushing to judgment in the case of suspended Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Bryant McGill, who is facing widespread calls for his arrest over allegations of raping a minor.
Speaking to reporters in Monrovia, Sando said citizens should allow investigators to carry out their work professionally rather than resorting to protests or sentiment-driven actions. He noted that premature pressure risks undermining the process.
“We are repeating the same mistakes of the Angel Togba case. We shouldn’t infuse sentiments into everything,” Sando stated. “The way forward is not to take placards to the Liberia National Police. Give the investigation the chance. Let’s follow the professional standard of investigation.”
Sando’s remarks come as public anger continues to mount, with many demanding immediate action against the suspended minister. Authorities, however, maintain that the matter must be handled carefully to ensure a credible outcome.
