Police enforcing a court-ordered eviction at the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) headquarters on Saturday arrested William C. Wea, the former Township Commissioner of West Point, for alleged possession of a firearm.
According to police accounts, Wea was discovered inside the party headquarters during the operation. Officers say that when they attempted to remove him, he resisted and allegedly used pepper spray against them. He was subsequently subdued and taken into custody.
The eviction exercise, which began early Saturday morning, has already seen major damage to the CDC compound. Structures demolished include the party’s mini museum, home to plaques, historic memorabilia, T-shirts, and other regalia, as well as the Muna E. Pelham Young Blood Vocational School situated on the property.
Witnesses described a forceful enforcement effort, with officers, including mask-wearing sheriffs, using crowbars and heavy equipment to break through the main headquarters as demolition intensified.

The arrest of Wea marks the first reported detention linked to the enforcement, adding another layer of tension to an already heated standoff between the police and the opposition party.
